Elizabeth & Nate
Elizabeth & Nate had me up to Dahlonega for their rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Two weeks before their wedding, Elizabeth called, stressing about the rain forecasted for their day, but when I met the girls at the little cottage where they were getting ready, not a cloud was present in the sky. As the girls put their final touches on their hair and makeup, the guys all toasted with personalized mugs Nate had gifted the— complete with little caricatures of each groomsmen.
The ceremony took place in a covered pavilion overlooking the distant mountains, and we all headed up to the glass-fronted lodge for dinner & dancing. During toasts, Elizabeth & Nate received a surprise video message from a bridesmaid who was stationed in service to the military, which didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. After dinner Nate and his mom opened up the dance floor, joined by guests and even Nate’s 90 year old grandmother, who I think didn’t sit for the rest of the night.
Just before sunset we were able to make it out into the pruned vineyard for a couple of photos. Between toasts and dances, I looked at Elizabeth & Nate and said it’s now or never. We’d been waiting for the opportunity to pop out there all day, and just before the sun made its final descent behind the mountains we caught it.
Cheers, Elizabeth & Nate!
