Cortney & Chris
Cortney & Chris traveled back to Tifton from Chris’ military base in Virginia to celebrate their wedding day at the Peach Barn at Timbermill Acres. Their ceremony took place beneath the pines at an outdoor chapel, and their celebration continued at the lakeside barn nearby.
When I arrived, the girls were listening to music and doing their own makeup. A ballerina growing up, Cortney was used to the routine of professional looking makeup. Once she was ready, she shared a private moment of prayer with her parents to begin the day… well almost begin. Her sister in law casually sewed the decorative belt Cortney would wear right onto her dress. Then we headed out to portraits, while Abby hung back and continued to be seamstress for the day for the other bridesmaids.
Their first look took place along the shoreline of the small lake behind the barn. Between Chris accidentally throwing Cortney’s bouquet and their two dogs coming around intermittently for a little visit, we dodged the gnats that were along for the party for the rest of their photos with only one wind storm passing quickly overhead. Those gnats stuck around come 6:30pm when the ceremony began, but I was given two dryer sheets by a wise woman who’d brought plenty to share and quickly stuffed them in my jumpsuit to ware off the little buzzing bugs for the rest of the evening.
Dinner was served by a family member who owns a local pizzeria, complete with lasagna and the best ranch around. The rest of the night was dancing and greeting family who’d come from near and far to celebrate with them, and we ended the night with an impressive dip from Chris out front of the barn at the sparkler exit.
Congratulations, Cortney & Chris!
