Backyard Wedding on the Water

Chelsea & Christian

Foster, VA

This day was so full of meaningful touches. Chelsea LITERALLY thought of everything, and it made my heart so happy to learn about the different ways she incorporated her memories throughout the day. For starters, Chelsea chose her grandmother’s old house, now a B&B, as the site of her & Christian’s celebration. Chelsea & her sister grew up visiting the house over summers, and the place was brimming with shared memories.

Wearing her mother’s wedding dress, she said her vows to Christian beneath an arbor that her dad built from her childhood playground. Christian also had his own special touch with his mom pinning wings upon his jacket in memory of his brother, who fought as an Air Force pilot. They used a Bible memorializing her brother during their ceremony, as well.

If you asked Chelsea or Christian what they were most excited about, they would tell you dancing with their family & friends. They hold a reputation for putting on a good time, and they didn’t disappoint, kicking off their reception with a toast to their guests and an ICE for their siblings. Christian even took one for the team and chugged his own, and then the dances began.

In lieu of a wedding cake, they offered their favorite junky snack — zebra cakes & swiss cake rolls. You’ll see them feeding one another on the dance floor, well after toasts were made earlier in the evening with Chelsea’s parents’ glasses they’d toasted with at their own wedding.

I so enjoyed being a part of Chelsea & Christian’s day on the water of Virginia. All of their personal touches brought a comfort & ease to their day and such a fun weekend of celebrating them. Cheers, y’all!
